Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects dietary supplementation with fructooligosaccharides (FOS) on performance, hematology, and immunology pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) juveniles. A total 0 (control), 2.0, 4.0 g kg-1 probiotic were added fish diets. Fish (49.3±4.3 g) allotted into 12 tanks 60 L, in a completely randomized design (n=4). After days, final weight, weight gain, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio improved fed prebiotic, although intake not affected by treatments. number red blood cells higher only 2.0 FOS. opposite observed for hematimetric indices mean corpuscular volume hemoglobin, which decreased defense cells, such as leukocytes thrombocytes, also increased prebiotic evaluated immunological parameters influenced supplementation.
